Eating Before Bed.. The Big No No - August 31st, 2009

The biggest no no you hear is never to go to bed right after you ate. It is better to go for a brisk walk after you eat or conduct some sort of activity. The belief is  the calories will not be burned off they will instead be stored as fat. However, this all depends on what you eat and when. If you eat three hours before, you will have digested most of it by the time you go to bed, so it wouldn’t be much of a bother by that time. Keep in mind that no matter what time of day it is, no matter how active you are, almost anything that is not burned off is stored as fat. I would suggest eating 3 hours before bed and enjoying some exercise, it doesn’t have to be heavy after dinner but something that gets your heart pumping. You are what you eat so eat well, watch your calories, and always exercise. Being overweight can cause many diseases, so before you go pouring through your cabinets in the late night looking for those chunky chocolate chip cookies, or nachos and a soda.  Make sure you ate a filling meal within the 3 hours bed rule and you are less likely to feel hungry when going to bed.  I hope my tip has helped you it sure has helped my family.
