To Lose Weight - March 2nd, 2011

Losing weight can be as simple as you make it. You only need to take a few simple steps to radically change your life. Fad diets don’t work because you gain the weight back. If you are forty or more pounds overweight then a fad diet is most likely not the answer. With that many pounds a lifestyle change is in order, but it does not have to be hugely dramatic. Instead of wondering how to lose weight fast, perhaps the question of how to be healthier is in order.

Water intake is a key component to weight loss. Most often the body is dehydrated to some degree. When you are thirsty you are already partially dehydrated. So consuming the right amounts of water daily is important for proper body function and processes. How much water you drink is important. Dieticians recommend drinking about sixty ounces of water daily.

When you are wanting to lose weight this number should be increased for better flow and release of toxins. This number should be half of your weight in ounces. For instance if you weigh 180 pounds, it is recommend that you drink ninety ounces of water a day.

Lowering your caloric intake is an even bigger step. Most foods are higher in calories than most people know. Three bits of something could add up to one hundred calories. The recommended calorie consumption is two thousand per day; however most people exceed this greatly. Paying attention to what you are eating is very important. You do not need to deprive yourself of some of the foods you love, you simply should not eat them every day or in high amounts. Portion control is the key. Rather than eating a pounds of fries, limit yourself to a handful. Eating smaller portions will dramatically reduce your calorie consumption.
